The medal is the last one on the right hand side. It is an unofficial commemorative medal commissioned by RAN Associations.

Initially RAN Sailors who visited Vietnam on war ships were not recognized with a medal, hence they struck their own. This medal was never authorized to be worn with genuine service medals

Subsequently the Government provided an official medal to cover the service of all servicemen who had short term visits and included sailors, soldiers, airmen and civilians, such as Qantas staff and entertainers .
