Updated 03 Nov 2013

Sydney Keith BOESE, Date of Birth, 3 July, 1938 of Worongary, Queensland, claims to have served in Malaya and Borneo with the New Zealand Army, Service Number 775278. To see why he appears on our site, see below -;

As yet,  we have not been able to prove or disprove if Sydney Boese served in the New Zealand Army with the 2 ndBattalion or in Malaya. We did receive a copy of a number of documents from unknown sources. These include his Statement of Service with the New Zealand Defence Force, which appears to be a computer generated document, as well as a signed declaration to join an organization by Sydney Boese, in which he claims to have served in Malaya and Borneo.

You will notice the dates of service are from 27 April 1959 to 24 July 1960.  We will refer to this when we identify his medals and service in Borneo. It would be appreciated if anyone could advise us if the Statement of Service is the correct Certificate of Service for that time period.

We are in possession of a Statutory Declaration, together with other information on Sydney Boese.

Sydney Boese could not have served in Borneo as he was no longer in the New Zealand Army, (According to his Statement of Service) as elements of the 1 stRoyal New Zealand Infantry Regiment were not deployed to Borneo till May 1965. He would also have been awarded the General Service Medal 1962 with clasp Borneo.

Sydney Boese is a member of the Southport RSL in Queensland and also the following organizations -; the Coastguard, Australian American Association and the Gold Coast Show.

When you look at the two photos of Boese, he is wearing three official Medals as well as three unofficial commemorative medals. The first three medals are official medals issued by the New Zealand Defence Force. The official medals from left to right are as follows -;

New Zealand Operational Medal.

General Service Medal 1918-1962, clasp possibly Malaya.

Pingat Jasa Malaysia Medal. (official commemorative medal issued by the Malaysian Government)

The other three medals are unofficial commemorative medals (better known as Tin medals which serve no purpose) that can be purchased at Medal Shops and should never be worn on the left breast, especially with awarded official medals.

The fourth medal is the Compulsory Military Training Medal 1949 to 1958 which looks similar to the Australian Service Medal 1945-1975. Now if Sydney Boese’s Statement of Service is correct, he should not be wearing this unofficial medal as his service began in 1959.

The fifth medal is the unofficial 150 thAnniversary of the New Zealand Army Medal.

The unofficial medal which he wears separately on the left breast is the commemorative 90 thAnniversary of the Royal New Zealand Returned and Services Association.

It is clear that Sydney Boese conducts himself as some kind of hero by wearing extra medals he is not officially entitled to wear.

The average citizen would not know the difference between an official and an unofficial medal or if it is a campaign, long service or a defence service medal. Seeing a serving or ex-serving member of the Defence Force wearing a large rack of medals would most likely give them the impression the person must have been involved in a number of conflicts.

The RSL Sub-Branch of Southport would have the file dealing with the Protocol of Wearing Medals and the instructions relating to the wearing of unofficial commemorative medals. The members of the committee at the Southport RSL should be enforcing these protocols and leading by example ensuring that all members of the Sub-Branch adhere to the correct wearing of medals.

This applies to all ex service organizations.  Should they fail to follow these instructions, which have also been published by the Government and the RSL itself, they are failing in their responsibility as committee members by allowing anyone into their organizations to wear tin medals.

Sydney Boese, you and others like you, who wear unofficial commemorative medals and those that allow you to wear such tin medals, show a complete lack of respect to all current and former servicemen and women, who comply with the correct wearing of medals issued to them and feel they don’t have to enhance their service to the nation by wearing medals that have to be purchased.

If you are not aware of it, the New Zealand Defence Force has an official medal you would be entitled to wear called the New Zealand Defence Service Medal which can be worn with one of four different clasps on submitting an application if you did serve at all.

Sydney Boese, for your lack of respect regarding the wearing of medals you will grace our web site. Our advice to you is to get rid of the tin medals and wear medals that have been officially awarded to you.

Update 3 Nov 2013

The Southport Returned Services League (RSL) Sub Branch in Queensland rewards medal cheats that appear on our site by voting them into executive positions as is the case with Sydney Keith Boese as well as Mark Tull, who was voted in as Secretary and also appears on our site at the following link.

http://www.anzmi.net/index.php/component/sobipro/?pid=63&sid=372:Tull

Is it no wonder that many ex-servicemen including the younger veterans will not have anything to do with the RSL when they fail to uphold the proper protocols of wearing medals and instead of suspending medals cheats, they reward them by voting them onto the Sub-Branch committees.

It shows that such Sub-Branches have no integrity or honour towards ex-servicemen as a whole but only their own wellbeing in maintaining the numbers that they have.

It is time that the Queensland State RSL sent a clear message to their Sub-Branches to uphold the proper protocols and traditions of the RSL to earn the respect of ex-servicemen, and maybe then they will encourage more members to join the League.

Update - Sydney Keith "Slim" Boese -  02 Nov 14

The ex New Zealand Army Veteran, Sydney "Slim" Boese attended the Queensland Returned Services League (RSL) 2014 Annual General Meeting in Townsville, Far North Queensland.

One would opine that an exposed medals cheat would not have the audacity to attend an RSL State Annual General Meeting (AGM) still wearing "Tin" medals. The offensive medals are the last two that are shown in the photo above and in our original exposure.

From the smile on his face it appears that no person at the RSL meeting deigned to advise Boese that his behaviour is offensive. In 2013 Boese was Treasurer of the Southport RSL. As the RSL has not published details of its 2014 Committee following their AGM in June 2014 we don't know if Boese is still a senior executive. If he is, it is a damn disgrace that this ex New Zealand serviceman is allowed to get away with flouting the traditions of ANZAC Veterans. The New Zealand Goverment has the same policy about "Tin" Medals as the Australian Government and that is.
if you must wear them, wear them on the right side. Those who add them to their Defence medals and wear them on their left breast obviously have psychological issues.

We ask the Southport RSL to lift their game, and advise Boese to get the medals off his NZ Defence rack.

This is published in the public interest, particularly that of the Vietnam Veteran Community. All information presented here is fact and the truth. Reports from private citizens are supported by statements of fact and statutory declarations.

Persons appearing on our site that are now deceased will not be removed, but the case will have the word "Deceased" placed next to their name when we are advised.

Update Boese 16 Jan 16

So it seems that the committee and members of the Southport RSL Sub-branch still don't get it!  Either that or they simply don't care about the adverse publicity they have had directed at them by ANZMI.

As stated in a recent Southport Sub-branch newsletter, "There has been a significant amount of turmoil within the management of the sub-branch and all members should be made aware of some of the circumstances of this turmoil."  Seems to be some similarity to the shuffling the deck-chairs on the Titanic!

The fact that both the former president and deputy president should not only resign their positions on the sub-branch committee but also from the RSL sub-branch itself! Seems that something is indeed rotten in the State of Southport. Although one of the resignations, that of president Lawrie Pollard, will not see any ANZMI flags lowered to half-mast. Pollard was himself the subject of a very in-depth investigation by ANZMI.

However, our real concern at the latest fractious behaviour within the sub-branch executive is the appointment of wannabe Sydney 'Slim' Boese to the positions of vice president and treasurer!  We suspect, that like the SS Titanic, there are icebergs aplenty on the horizon for the Southport RSL Sub-branch.

DECEASED - September 2015

337384 Brigadier J(Jody) Castle

RNZASC- 16 Field Regiment, North Island, New Zealand

It  is not often that CPMH runs across a larger than life mug who obviously has no fear of the Veteran community or the laws in place for impersonating a Veteran.    This charming gentleman graced the St Kilda RSL, Melbourne in all his finery and expected the members there to be kind and courteous to him on the day, as, after all, he is a New Zealand Brigadier.   He was indeed shown the respect he deserved by the Veterans and the full story will appear here soon.  In the meanwhile just browse the photographs and see if you can pick any faults with the good Brigadier's dress and bearing.

Perhaps you too may have run across the Brigadier.  We at the site would be interested in any information you may have.  Send it here information@anzmi.net   Or maybe you encountered and took photos of an impostor in your area on Anzac day.  Please send them through to us along with their story and we will ensure that all Veterans get to know about their heroic exploits via these pages.

This is published in the public interest, particularly that of the Vietnam Veteran Community. All information presented here is fact and the truth. Reports from private citizens are supported by statements of fact and statutory declarations.

UPDATE: JODY Charles CASTLE 30 Sep 14

"Brigadier" Jodie Charles Castle is a recidivist liar, cheat and wannabe. He was originally "outed" many years ago by ANZMI after wandering into the St Kilda RSL wearing the uniform of a New Zealand Army Brigadier, complete with campaign medals. He now resides in the Oakleigh area of Melbourne, Victoria. Here is what he looks like now:

Castle1jpg.jpg

Castle2jpg.jpg

Note that his camouflage clothes shows him as a New Zealand Korea war Veteran. He has been attending suburban Rugby matches wearing his "Cam clothes" and also a bright red blazer of the 28th Maori Battalion Association.

Castle3jpg.jpg

Castle4jpg.jpg

The 28th Maori Battalion Association is now defunct and information is not available regarding past or present members.

The Royal New Zealand Army Association has never heard of Castle.

The Australian Returned Services League (RSL) Sub Branch of New Zealand Veterans have never heard of Castle

His real military history is hard to track, however we believe he could be ex New Zealand Soldier

Regimental Number: 337384 Ex Private J Castle of 10th Coy Royal New Zealand Army Service Corp.

When asked about his military background he said:

"I had a falling out with the President of the St.Kilda RSL who did not recognise our South Eastern campaign War even though I have been a member there since 1986 and had the honour of taking my NZ Maori 28th Battalion Unit Contingent there for 3 days, 48 Soldiers in all proof of that visit in all the photos of that visit, though since then the Vietnam Vets now Rule the roost and have taken over the RSL. I am now a member (Life)with the Dandenong Branch."

When asked "What the South Eastern campaign War was" he said:

"South Eastern(Asian)Korea/Japan/China/Guam Skirmishes etc eventually including Vietnam. Occupational included after the 2nd World War"

In our original exposure when Castle was removed from the St Kilda RSL he was wearing Vietnam Campaign medals and therefore purporting to be a Vietnam Veteran, so he should have been "at home" at the St Kilda RSL.

In reality he was kicked out of the St Kilda RSL for being a big goose of an impostor for (very untidily) wearing the uniform of an New Zealand Army Brigadier.

We know this man is a liar, fraud and wannabe.

We know he did not serve in Korea or Vietnam with the New Zealand Army.

We know he was never a Commissioned Officer in any Army, however we don't know the details of his New Zealand past.

Someone from the Isle of the Long White Cloud must know Castle and his past.

We would very much appreciate information about him so that his posterity will know the full and true military history of Jody Castle

Surname: Koch
Christian Names: Timothy Robert
Country: Australia

City or Town: Port Lincoln
Service #: 8540902
Service: Army
Branch: Infantry
Commencement of service: Mar 08
Completion of service: Jun 10
Case Notes:

Timothy Robert Koch of Port Lincoln enlisted into the Australian Regular Amy in March 2008 and was sacked in June 2010. The reason for his departure is shown as "Retention not in the Service Interest".

Koch appeared in the Port Lincoln Times following this years Remembrance Day service. He was wearing four medals and one badge. These were:

Australian Active Service Medal
Afghanistan Medal
Australian Defence Medal
North Atlantic Treaty Organisation Medal
Infantry Combat Badge

Koch is a classic wannabe, fraud and liar, he has earned none of the medals or the coveted Infantry Combat Badge.

Before being sacked Koch spent all of his twenty seven months of Army Service in Australia. After recruit training he was posted to the 5th Battalion Royal Australian Regiment (5RAR). An element of 5RAR were posted to Afghanistan in 2008 but Koch was not with them, and he had been discharged from the Army before the Battalion was deployed to Afghanistan in September 2010.

We have reported this matter to the South Australia Police and have received information that they are actively investigating offences under the "Defence Act 1903 Part VII Sections 80A and 80B"

80A. Falsely representing to be returned soldier
80B. Improper use of service decorations

Both these offences carry maximum penalties of $3,300 fine of six months imprisonment or both. Koch is a Corrections Officer at Port Lincoln and for these offences he may get the opportunity to see the other side of his work. At the very least he is not a fit and proper person to be a Prison Officer.

Koch has "sported" his false medals in a Retuned and Services League Bar at Port Lincoln. He also wears the medal ribbands on his Correction Officer uniform. His blasé approach indicates he confidently believed that he would not be caught. Koch was wrong, ANZMI have thousands of Veterans and ex Servicemen all over Australia watching for wannabes.

Koch has been comprehensively caught and will now be able to "sport" his false medals for all time on our web site and with a bit of luck may get to wear them on an inmate uniform.

UPDATE KOCH  December 2015

South Australian Wannabes beware as those who falsely claim to be returned veterans or wear medals they have not earned are very likely to be charged and put before a Magistrate.

For the first time in our twenty years of operation South Australia State Police have successfully charged a wannabe.  It is disappointing to Veterans that there are still two States who will not prosecute offenders, they are New South Wales and Western Australia.

Below is the media report that updates and finalizes the Koch affair:

Surname: Jenkins
Christian Names: Peter Kevin
Country: Australia
State or Province: Queensland (Formerly SA)
City or Town: Maroochydore (Formerly Mackay)
Service #: Nil
Service: Nil

Commencement of service: N/A
Completion of service: N/A
Case Notes:

We have on our web site numerous examples of men who make a career of "sponging" off vulnerable women. These pathetic examples of humanity always exhibit the symptoms of being pathological liars. Peter Kevin Jenkins of Maroochydore is such an excuse for a man.

National Australia Archives were unable to locate a Defence Service File for Peter Kevin Jenkins. We hold Statutory Declarations detailing Jenkins version of his military history.

Here is what Jenkins has to say:

He joined the Australian Army aged 18 years

Served in the Special Air Service (SAS)

Was shot four times and will show his scars to prove it

Served in Afghanistan, Timor and Papua New Guinea

Held suspected terrorists in a container terminal tortured them for 12 days then shot them in the back of the head.

Gets a War Pension of $2,800 a fortnight

He refuses to attend ANZAC day commemorations because although he served 18 years the Australian Defence Force did not care about him.

Around ANZAC Day in 2014 he was very depressed because of the things he had to do for his country.

Claims to possess "7 hand guns"

He has four war medals which he will readily exhibit and is booked to receive another at a medals presentation ceremony in Canberra in August 2014.

There are numerous examples of scurrilous dishonest wimps on this web site who seek free board and lodgings whilst claiming to be serving or ex serving Special Forces Servicemen, These mongrels falsely blame their tantrums and bad behaviour on the Psychological injuries received whilst involved in heroic Defence service, which is always of a secret nature, such as described by Jenkins when he "murdered prisoners of war".

We know that Jenkins has previously resided in the Mackay area of Queensland, and South Australia. We would appreciate information from others he has conned before moving to Maroochydore.

Peter Kevin Jenkins is the epitome of the exact opposite of how a genuine SAS Regiment soldier would act. He is without scruples, honour or human decency. From now on, whenever his name is typed into a search engine this truth about him will emerge.

We welcome Jenkins to our web site with the knowledge that this is the retribution wrought upon liars frauds and wannabes who infest the Australian and New Zealand Veteran Communities.

UPDATE Peter Kevin Jenkins aka Peter Kevin Cane

Since publishing our exposure of Jenkins we have received further information, including advice from a person who served with him during his military career. We now know that he did have a military career, although it was less than auspicious, very short, and served under his real name, which is Peter Kevin Cane born 9 March 1978.

5800672 Peter Kevin Cane aka Jenkins, enlisted into the Australian Regular Army on 4 September 1995 and was discharged 21 October 1995. The reason for his discharge was that he was "Not suited to be a soldier" Obviously the Enlistment Officer made an error when he approved Jenkins aka Cane's application to enlist.

There is no real shame in being discharged for the reason of being unsuitable, as not everybody is suited for the rigours of Army service. There is however monumental shame when a person falsely claims to have served heroically with the Special Air Service Regiment (SASR), when they failed Recruit Training, which is, in part, designed to cull out those who are not suited for military life.

Since our exposure of Jenkins he has written some murderous and lying emails. He fails to understand that he is the author of his current situation because of his lies and deceit. In the email below, he threatens the life of an ANZMI investigator and his family.

"Peter Jenkins 19 Jul 14

Hi xxxx,

I've lost my wife because of you, so i think it's only fitting that you lose something in return.
Now your website is only a vigilante website as i described before, so what is going to happen now i am and will take your life, weather (sic) it be by a slash to the throat or maybe i will take a valued member or your family, it seems to me that you seem it necessary to make assumptions in regards to members of the public with which you have no evidence against their affiliation in one way or another against the military. now i promise i will find you and i will make you pay, the only person i ever loved was my partner an you thought it was up too you to play god or whatever reason you thought that made you better then the rest of us humans.

Your time on this earth is coming to an end, in other words your life expectancy has narrowed.

I lost my wife because of you, so its only fitting you lose the same, Im not worried about the police, call me 0459438603, but your life expextency (sic) is very short"

The reason he "lost" his partner was because he had lied to her during the whole of their relationship. It is a common trait, for lying sponging "love rat" wannabes to live a life of complete fiction, with promises of riches to come, as long as their partners pay for everything.

Only pathological liars can get away with this behaviour and Jenkins aka Cane is a very model of an unrepentant Australian pathological liar.

Here is another example of his lying skills where he claims we have got it wrong:

We hold Statutory Declarations from people outside of his family who have provided evidence about his lies. He also states "If he done his homework he would have found my Service Record" We did our homework and no person with the name Jenkins had completed the Army service described by Jenkins aka Cane. He fails to mention that his Service Record is under a different name.

We have no doubt that Jenkins aka Cane will surface and re-offend in another location, perhaps under another name. We urge all persons concerned for the integrity of the Veterans and ex Service communities to keep watch for this disgusting individual

Update Peter Kevin Jenkins aka Peter Kevin Cane - 23 Oct 14

The rat has resurfaced and is still using his hackneyed modus operandi. He has departed Queensland and his area of operation is now Western Australia (WA). He appears to be working to the same script he used in Queensland. Here are reports from Perth WA about his latest activities.

Victim 1

"I was sucked into his lies about being in the special forces and his gun shot wounds stories. He told me so many lies and I felt totally degraded after I found out that he wasn't who he claimed to be. I met him off a dating site called Oasis and he had been to my house a few times. When we found out the truth he started threatening myself and my daughter. I reported him to the police and was considering a VRO but he backed off and hasn't contacted me in a while. I had him banned from Oasis as I emailed the site to tell them that he is a con man and fraud".

From family member of Victim 2

"He said he served at 3 Battalion Royal Australian Regiment then 2nd Commando Regiment then Special Air Service Regiment. He alleged he served for 17 years in the Army and went to Australian Defence Force Academy (ADFA), his father was military. His son is allegedly now at ADFA. He claims he did an exchange with US Army in Sacramento, California USA. He showed footage of a Channel Nine documentary he claims he appeared in, of course he could not be identified in the documentary. He mentioned he was shot four times, showed his wounds and he said he lost his mate, I believe the name to be Xxxx xxxxx. I couldn't find any such death. The date alleged was around 22 Sep 2012. His attitude seemed a bit too much bravado for an ex SASR soldier. He mentioned using a HKMP6, to which I couldn't find (hkmp5 and hkmp7 I could find) and claims it was a 9mm weapon. Used the names of places in Afghanistan, Tarin Kowt, Urozgan Province etc. Names of different aircraft used, and military vehicles. Yet some of the names used such as Bushmaster was referred to as Bushranger were a bit off.

Claims he started at ADFA as a lieutenant and reached rank of Captain. Dropped names, claims to know Corporal Ben Roberts-Smith. Offered to take me to the "kill house" in Swanbourne and observe the boys going through. Claims to own weapons and has a firearms licence."

ANZMI Investigators do not use profane language when writing up wannabes like Jenkins, but if we did, we would say that Jenkins is a Mongrel Bastard who has:

Threatened to kill an ANZMI Investigator and his family.
Threatened the family of one of his victims.
Threatened innocent people who have woken up to his lies and deceit.
Falsely claimed to have served as an elite soldier.
Falsely claimed to have been wounded in action.
Falsely claimed to be a Returned Veteran.

Jenkins has clearly committed a raft of offences. In particular against the Defence Act 1903, Part VII section 80A having falsely claimed to be a returned soldier. This offence is punishable by a maximum fine of $3.300 or six months imprisonment or both. The problem is, unlike other States, the WA Police will not even accept reports regarding this offence.'

Jenkins is the lowest of the low, he preys on vulnerable honest people who are genuinely looking for companionship. His swarthy appearance and his ability to lie without compunction make him a very dangerous and evil individual, who lacks the ability to attract a companion relying on his innate assets. He is a pathological liar, who when cornered will threaten violence.

We remind ex SASR members that Jenkins is sullying the impeccable reputation of the Regiment. We ask Veterans and ex Service persons all over Australia, and particularly in Western Australia to keep watch for Jenkins. Together we can keep up with his movements and "hound" him until he ceases his abominable behaviour.

Finally we say to Jenkins - "Go to hell because that is where you belong"

Update: Peter Kevin Jenkins aka Peter Kevin Cane – 22 Apr 15

Jenkins is back on duty in Brisbane.

His "mission" in Brisbane coincided with the latest Defence deployments to Iraq.  Jenkins told a very nice and genuine lady that he was resting before deployment to Iraq with Special Air Service Regiment (SASR).

His latest and disgusting heroic stories include being  shot four times in Afghanistan, resulting in the loss of one lung, and having a metal plate inserted into his chest.  His life was saved by the American Base Hospital in Germany where he was  recuperating for six months.

Despite his wounding and loss of body parts he is now  off to Iraq to fight against ISIS.

During his sojourn in Brisbane he stayed at a Brisbane Hotel and made it known that Defence was paying his account - Yeh and pigs can fly.

Jenkins arranges dates from Internet Dating Sites and being a naturally inadequate person has to adopt the persona of a battle hardened Army Veteran to charm a Lady.

In real life he is nothing but a frightened idiot who could not even cope with Army Recruit Training from which he was sacked after a couple of weeks for being "Not Suited to be a Soldier".

Before this latest "mission" he operated in Perth Western Australia and before that in the Sunshine Coast area of Queensland.

We will do all we can to have Police action taken against Jenkins for falsely claiming to be a Returned Veteran.

Those who choose to use Internet Dating Sites should keep a watch for this liar, conman and pathological liar and let us know where he is operating

UPDATE 09 JULY 2015

BEWARE JENKINS IS NOW OPERATING UNDER THE NAME OF DOBSON.

Here is a new Facebook entry that he has created:

Since our last report he has been operating in the Eastern States.  It is believed he may have travelled  back to Western Australia, but at the moment could be anywhere.

Here is a recent report about him:

"From my understanding this creep pretends to be an ex-SASR soldier as well as a current St John's Ambulance MICA Paramedic so he can pray on young and vulnerable woman and girls. The latest information is that he is going by the name Peter Dobson, is residing in Queensland and is currently unemployed"

We previously detailed his activities in Brisbane and  can now report that prior to his arrival in Brisbane, he was in jail in Tamworth, New South Wales. Below is a Newspaper Report that shows Jenkins as being a small time criminal and a drunk rather than the debonair, swaggering Special Air Service Soldier that he would have people believe.

As detailed in the above newspaper report Jenkins has a criminal history in New South Wales, South Australia and Tasmania. Also in most Australian States he has trawled Dating Sites and told disgusting lies about himself.

Following our last update JENKINS (now known as DOBSON) wrote us another of his disgusting threatening emails:

We suggest that any person who has the displeasure of meeting or communicating with Jenkins aka Dobson report his presence to us and their nearest Police Station. We will continue to pursue him until he stops portraying himself as a returned wounded Veteran.

UPDATE 11 NOV  2015 - JENKINS aka DOBSON aka NATHAN CANE

JENKINS IS STILL ON THE PROWL AND NOW USES THE NAME:  NATHAN CANE.

He is still "surfing" date websites seeking vulnerable ladies.

Have no doubt Jenkins  is a criminal, conman, liar and a wannabe.  He is back in Western Australia and continues trawling for "marks" on date websites.  Here are some of his latest false claims:

Notice that he says "Hate playing games??!!"  "Hate being told lies??!!"

They are interesting utterances, as Jenkins aka Cane is the king of games and deception and is a pathological liar.

He is not a "professional" does not have a "Bachelors Degree", does not speak Dutch

Beware of Jenkins aka Dobson aka Cane.

As a service to the community let us know if you have been, or currently are, a victim of Jenkins/Dobson/Cane

Kenneth Duncan spent almost Thirty Five years as an Army Reserves soldier and since his discharge has spent many years as a Army Cadets Officer.

He is wearing:

Reserve Forces Medal

National Medal

Australian Defence Medal

Emergency Services Medal - Self Purchased civilian "Tin" medal

You would think that after that amount of service he has had he would have enough sense to wear only the medals that have been issued to him.   Unfortunately he has chosen to add a self purchased civilian "Tin" medal to his three genuine medals.

This is the offending medal:

The medal is an Emergency Services, self purchased unofficial medal.

During his Army Reserve service he attained the rank of Warrant Officer First Class, with a posting of Regimental Sergeant Major.  That position includes being guardian of ceremony, traditions and protocols.  He now holds a Cadet Officer's Commission, with the rank of Captain. The rank has no standing  outside of the Cadet's organisation.

To many tacking on an unauthorised medal  would be judged as too minor to be entered on our website, but as far as we are concerned if the medal was not issued to you by the Federal Government it must not be worn.  We will enter medals cheats whether they are wearing one false medal or ten.

As an ex Regimental Sergeant Major, Kenneth Duncan should have known better, but obviously his vanity got the better of him and he succumbed to adding a bit of "bling" to make his medal rack a little bit longer.

Welcome to the website Kenneth Duncan.

Surname: Miller
Christian Names: John Victor
Country: Australia
State or Province: NSW
City or Town: Narraweena
Service #: 28641
Service: RAN
Branch: Steward
Commencement of service: 11 Dec 45
Completion of service: 30 Jul 48
Case Notes:

John Victor Miller was issued with the prestigious Order of Australia medal (OAM) for "Service to World War Two Veterans particularly through the recognition of under-age servicemen". His whole efforts in this endeavour were based on the false premise that he was an underage World War Two (WW2) Veteran.

In the above photograph miller is wearing the following medals:

1939-1945 Star - No entitlement.
Pacific Star - No entitlement.
Defence Medal - No entitlement.
1939-1945 War Medal - No entitlement.
Australian Service Medal 1939-1945 - No entitlement.
Australian Service medal 1945-1975 with Japan Clasp - May be entitled.
Unofficial British Commonwealth Occupation Forces Medal-Self purchased tin
Norwegian Defence Medal 1940-1945 - No entitlement.

The medals he wears in the above photograph are based on his Merchant Navy Service and Royal Australian Navy Service on the vessels:

SS Sjobris.
HMAS Shropshire.
HMAS Australia.

The truth is that he had no Merchant Navy Service, and all of his RAN service was after WW2 had ended.

He "sold" his false war history to a prestigious Private School, who celebrate the service of genuine underage Servicemen who fought in WW2. Eventually historians at the School were able to establish that Miller was a fraud, liar and wannabe and have "sacked" him from the organisation he foundered.

Miller's autobiography is one of a courageous, patriotic youngster who went to war at thirteen years of age in a Naval Auxiliary Patrol in St Vincents Gulf, South Australia. He then served as a Gunner in the Merchant Navy on a Norwegian Merchant Ship. After serving on the armed Norwegian Merchant Ship, SS Sjobris he enlisted into the RAN and served on RAN war ships, HMAS Shropshire and HMAS Australia.

Here is what he said about wartime service in the Merchant Navy and the RAN

"Waiting until the Norwegian ship S.S. Sjobris had docked, he made his way up to the bridge and greeted Captain Hans Johanson with the salute of the year. “Sir, I am a well-trained Cadet seeking a position.” Needing additional crew and influenced by appearances rather than age, the skipper signed on Cadet Miller as a “Yungman.” The luck continued with a R.A.N. - D.E.M.S. gun crew arriving the following day; Leading Seaman Doug Harding and Able Seaman Jack Manning shouting out instructions as their 25-year-old Balfour four-inch was hoisted aboard the Sjobris. Within minutes he had been accepted as a gun crew member by Doug Harding"

"With the Pacific ‘island hopping’ it was realized what enormous casualties lay ahead, especially the invasion of Japan itself. There was no doubt the most serious of these threats would come from the Japanese air attack corps. Large numbers of Allied ships were already being sent to the bottom by Kamikaze suicidal crashes, and this would steadily increase. Selected gunnery personnel including 1st Class AA Gunner Miller were given specialized training to combat this threat, and utilizing the latest American technology, sent back to their ships. The HMAS Australia (a Kamikaze put her out of action for a period) and HMAS Shropshire, were two Cruisers which Able Seaman John Miller served on"

He also falsely described the tragic circumstances of the death of a crewmate.

"The gunnery experience under Doug’s guidance enabled an earlier than normal entry into the R.A.N. and while in training he had gone to the aid of a young indigenous lad from Bunbury, and since that unfortunate incident, Billy Crocker stuck to his rescuer like glue. A few days after arriving in New Guinea, Billy was blown up at Finschhafen and rushing to his sickbay bed, I found a very badly mutulated (sic) mate. Finding it impossible to hold the dismembered hand, the only option was to lean forward and try to reassure my friend. “It’s okay Billy, I’m here with you now.” Coming out of his semi-conscious state, the first faltering words were about his appearance “What do I look like, Dusty… how bad is my face?” My answer was not the best. “You’ll be okay Billy, they’re doing wonders with our pilots faces.” A dome-like contraption with lots of hot inner globes covered his body and the doctor after feeling a protruding foot, shook his head. Moments later there was a gurgling noise with black liquid streaming from his mouth; and my best friend had been lost."

The above is a despicable lie.

The truth is that Miller had no maritime service until he enlisted in the RAN aged Seventeen years and five months in December 1945, three months after the end of WW2. His first departure from Australian was aboard HMAS Shropshire in January 1947 when as an Ordinary Seaman, with the trade of Steward, he was a crew member when the Ship visited Japan and returned to Australia in March 1947.

Here is both sides of his Navy Service Record. Although faded his service history can be traced.

As far as service aboard the Norwegian armed Merchant Ship SS Sjobris is concerned, there is no record of Miller ever having served in the Merchant Navy, and in any case we have the entire Sailing schedule for that ship for the years 1940 until 1946. The Vessel arrived in Fremantle on 15 August 1942 from Karachi and sailed only in Australian waters until March 1946 when it departed for Hong Kong. Here is an example of its Sailing Schedule.

The lies proffered by Miller of his Naval service are indicative of a pathological liar who has put a lot of thought and planning into his deception.

He is a long term offender who over many years created a false service history to glorify himself. He has wallowed in the accolades from his deception and most likely received financial benefit. He has been awarded the Medal for the Order of Australia (OAM)on the basis of a huge lie. We and others have made representations to the Office of the Governor General to have his OAM rescinded.

Ronald Barry Larcombe is another Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal (RVCM) cheat.
