337384 Brigadier J(Jody) Castle

RNZASC- 16 Field Regiment, North Island, New Zealand

It  is not often that CPMH runs across a larger than life mug who obviously has no fear of the Veteran community or the laws in place for impersonating a Veteran.    This charming gentleman graced the St Kilda RSL, Melbourne in all his finery and expected the members there to be kind and courteous to him on the day, as, after all, he is a New Zealand Brigadier.   He was indeed shown the respect he deserved by the Veterans and the full story will appear here soon.  In the meanwhile just browse the photographs and see if you can pick any faults with the good Brigadier's dress and bearing.

Perhaps you too may have run across the Brigadier.  We at the site would be interested in any information you may have.  Send it here information@anzmi.net   Or maybe you encountered and took photos of an impostor in your area on Anzac day.  Please send them through to us along with their story and we will ensure that all Veterans get to know about their heroic exploits via these pages.

This is published in the public interest, particularly that of the Vietnam Veteran Community. All information presented here is fact and the truth. Reports from private citizens are supported by statements of fact and statutory declarations.

UPDATE: JODY Charles CASTLE 30 Sep 14

"Brigadier" Jodie Charles Castle is a recidivist liar, cheat and wannabe. He was originally "outed" many years ago by ANZMI after wandering into the St Kilda RSL wearing the uniform of a New Zealand Army Brigadier, complete with campaign medals. He now resides in the Oakleigh area of Melbourne, Victoria. Here is what he looks like now:

Note that his camouflage clothes shows him as a New Zealand Korea war Veteran. He has been attending suburban Rugby matches wearing his "Cam clothes" and also a bright red blazer of the 28th Maori Battalion Association.

The 28th Maori Battalion Association is now defunct and information is not available regarding past or present members.

The Royal New Zealand Army Association has never heard of Castle.

The Australian Returned Services League (RSL) Sub Branch of New Zealand Veterans have never heard of Castle

His real military history is hard to track, however we believe he could be ex New Zealand Soldier

Regimental Number: 337384 Ex Private J Castle of 10th Coy Royal New Zealand Army Service Corp.

When asked about his military background he said:

"I had a falling out with the President of the St.Kilda RSL who did not recognise our South Eastern campaign War even though I have been a member there since 1986 and had the honour of taking my NZ Maori 28th Battalion Unit Contingent there for 3 days, 48 Soldiers in all proof of that visit in all the photos of that visit, though since then the Vietnam Vets now Rule the roost and have taken over the RSL. I am now a member (Life)with the Dandenong Branch."

When asked "What the South Eastern campaign War was" he said:

"South Eastern(Asian)Korea/Japan/China/Guam Skirmishes etc eventually including Vietnam. Occupational included after the 2nd World War"

In our original exposure when Castle was removed from the St Kilda RSL he was wearing Vietnam Campaign medals and therefore purporting to be a Vietnam Veteran, so he should have been "at home" at the St Kilda RSL.

In reality he was kicked out of the St Kilda RSL for being a big goose of an impostor for (very untidily) wearing the uniform of an New Zealand Army Brigadier.

We know this man is a liar, fraud and wannabe.

We know he did not serve in Korea or Vietnam with the New Zealand Army.

We know he was never a Commissioned Officer in any Army, however we don't know the details of his New Zealand past.

Someone from the Isle of the Long White Cloud must know Castle and his past.

We would very much appreciate information about him so that his posterity will know the full and true military history of Jody Castle
